ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS - CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION: Enrollment is conducted by the site provider with assistance by Oakland Builders Education Seminars through flyers and news releases to local media. Students may enroll up until the first session, but at least (7) students are needed to ensure a course will run. Students must be over 18 years of age to attend the Builder's Pre-license class. There are no age requirements for other classes.
All students will be awarded a certificate of completion upon attendance of at least three-quarters of the course sessions. (There are no certificates for one and three-night courses unless required for reimbursement of student fees.)
All students are asked to sign-in at the beginning of class and at each session. Attendance at two course sessions or the first four hours of a class will constitute agreement that the student is committed to taking the class.
ABSENCES and RE-ENTRIES: All absences can be made up at later classes at no charge to the student. Student must show proof of enrollment at another site and may not be the deciding enrollment to determine whether a class will be run. Students must contact OBES to assure the class they wish will be in session and the instructor is informed they are coming.
Students who were dismissed from a previous class for reasons relating to inappropriate behavior will not be allowed to makeup classes at another location.
RULES OF STUDENT CONDUCT: Students must not disrupt the lectures or create a disturbance that prevents others from learning. Abusive language, disruptive behavior, being under the influence of alcohol or harmful substances during class will be cause for dismissal. If a student is dismissed from class for the above reasons, all fees will be forfeited.

TUITION CHARGES: The following are approximate charges to the public for classes. Actual prices will be negotiated on the percentage the sponsoring school requires.

Builder's Pre-License Seminar - $190 - $240, plus textbook charges of $25.
How to Build Your Own Home - $195 - $240, plus textbook charges of $35.
Basement Remodeling - $85 - $99, plus textbook and materials' charges of $15.
NEW! Business Plan - $105, plus textbook charges of $20.
REFUND POLICIES: For classes not held in community education facilities, students may request and be expected to receive a full refund for the cost of the class if it is requested before the second 4-hour period. Refunds for classes held at community education facilities are subject to the refund policy of those schools. Check before registering. All classes in which a manual is used, students will be liable for the full payment of the class if they cancel the class but keep the manual. No refund should be given until the manual is returned. $15 will be deducted if there is writing or other marks on the manual. Oakland Builders Education Seminars reserves the right to cancel a class should the expected number of students at the beginning of any given class fall one person below the minimum stated in the agreement between the school and the Institute. The instructor on site will make that decision after consulting with our administration.
PREVIOUS TRAINING OR EDUCATION: No previous builder's training or education is required for attendance at any seminar.
PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE: No job placement assistance is available through Oakland Builders Education Seminars.
